We would like to begin our meeting by recognizing the First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada as traditional stewards of the land.  The municipality is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 which is the traditional land of the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples.

    THAT the Agenda of May 27, 2024 be approved as circulated, including any items added to the Agenda.

NOTE: In accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and the Town Procedural By-law 2023-62, Council Members must file a written statement of the interest and its general nature with the Clerk for inclusion on the Registry.

    THAT the Committee of the Whole minutes of April 30, 2024 be adopted as circulated, including any revisions to be made.

Written correspondence may still be received in response to matters  that have been the subject of a Public Meeting. If a person is unable to personally attend the meeting, or during any period where an emergency has been declared to exist in the municipality, they shall provide their Public Comments in writing to the Clerk in advance of the meeting for the Clerk to read on behalf of the author during the Public Comment Period.

Re: Comments regarding zoning of location where business is operating

    THAT Council receive Staff Report PDS.24.074, entitled “Update for Bill 185 Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024”;

    THAT Council receive Staff Report PDS.24.028, entitled “Request for Public Meeting for Craigleith Community Park”;

    AND THAT Council direct staff to proceed with a public meeting upon the preparation of a design concept for the Craigleith Community Park.

    THAT Council receive Staff Report PDS.24.084, entitled “Official Plan 5 Year Review Update” for information purposes;

    THAT Council receive Staff Report PDS.24.055, entitled “Recommendation Report – Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-Law Amendment for 209806 and 209808 Highway 26 (Pinnacle Townhomes)”;

    AND THAT with respect to Section B3.7.4.5 Open Space – Exception of the Official Plan, Council support an exception to the open space policies of the Residential Recreational Area land use designation to permit a minimum of 33% of the proposed development to be open space, whereas a minimum of 40% is required.

    AND THAT Council enact a By-law to adopt Official Plan Amendment #4 to the Town of The Blue Mountains Official Plan to permit the construction of seventeen (17) rowhouses, in accordance with Attachment 1;

    AND THAT Council enact a By-law to rezone the lands municipally known as 209806 and 209808 Highway 25 from the Residential Two ‘R2-101’ and General Commercial ‘C2’ Zones to the Residential Two Exception Holding ‘R2-101-h49’ Zone, in accordance with Attachment 2.
