Traditional Territory Acknowledgement and Moment of Reflection

We would like to begin our meeting by recognizing the First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada as traditional stewards of the land.  The municipality is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 which is the traditional land of the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples.

NOTE: In accordance with the Town Procedural By-law 2023-62 ten minutes is allotted at the beginning and end of each section of the Committee of the Whole Meeting to receive public comments regarding matters included on the Agenda. Each person shall provide their name and address, and is required to address their comments to the Chair. Comments shall not refer to personal, litigation or potential litigation matters, or be in response to matters that have been the subject of a Public Meeting, it being noted that the verbal commenting period has ended. Sole Source Procurement of Water Meters, OPS.25.037

  THAT Council receive Staff Report OPS.25.037, entitled “Sole Source Procurement of Water Meters”;

  AND THAT Council approve the sole source procurement of Neptune Technology Group water meters from Evans Utility and Municipal Products Supply Ltd. until the Town undertakes another meter replacement program, or there is another Neptune meter supplier for this area.

Waste Management and Litter Control By-law, Waste Set-out Provision, OPS.25.038

• Recommended (Move, Second)

  THAT Council receive for information Staff Report OPS.25.038, entitled “Waste Management and Litter Control By-law, Waste Set-out Provision”;

  AND THAT Council approves the implementation of a warning and education program as outlined in the report.

Increase Thornbury West Phase 1 Engineering Contract Value, OPS.25.039

  THAT Council receive Staff Report OPS.25.039, entitled “Increase Thornbury West Phase 1 Engineering Contract Value”;

  AND THAT Council approves increasing the value of the existing Thornbury West Phase 1 Engineering Contract by $266,000 from the approved Capital Budget.
