We would like to begin our meeting by recognizing the First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada as traditional stewards of the land.  The municipality is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 which is the traditional land of the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples.

    THAT The Blue Mountains Police Services Board Agenda of May 6, 2024 be approved as circulated, including any additions to the Agenda.

Note: At the October 30, 2023 Council Meeting, Council passed the following resolution:

THAT Council receive Staff Report FAF.23.150, entitled “Status Update on The Blue Mountains Police Services Board”;

AND THAT Council appoint Councillor Gail Ardiel as the second Council Member Representative on The Blue Mountains Police Services Board.


Note: At the April 2, 2024 Council Meeting, Council passed the following resolution:

THAT Council appoints Lynn Church as a Public Member to the Town of The Blue Mountains Police Services Board for the balance of the 2022 to 2026 term of Council.  

NOTE: In accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and the Town Procedural By-law 2023-62, The Blue Mountains Police Services Board Members must file a written statement of the interest and its general nature with the Clerk for inclusion on the Registry.

    THAT The Blue Mountains Police Services Board minutes of January 24, 2024 be approved as circulated, including any revisions to be made.

     

Note: Section 36(2) of the Community Safety and Policing Act permits that a Vice Chair may be appointed at the Board's first meeting in each year. The Blue Mountains Police Services Board passed the following motion at their January 24, 2024 Board Meeting:

THAT The Blue Mountains Police Services Board defers the selection of a Vice-Chair until the April 17, 2024 Board Meeting.

    THAT, in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act, section 36(2), (Member) is appointed as the Vice-Chair of The Blue Mountains Police Services Board for a one year term ending December 31, 2024.
