We would like to begin our meeting by recognizing the First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada as traditional stewards of the land.  The municipality is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 which is the traditional land of the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples.

NOTE: In accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act and the Town Procedural By-law 2022-76, Council Members must file a written statement of the interest and its general nature with the Clerk for inclusion on the Registry.

    THAT the Committee of the Whole Minutes of February 27, 2023, be adopted as circulated, including any revisions to be made.

NOTE: In accordance with the Town Procedural By-law 2022-76 Ten minutes allotted at the beginning and end of each section of the Committee of the Whole Meeting to receive public comments regarding matters included on the Agenda. Each person shall provide their name and address, and is required to address their comments to the Chair. Comments shall not refer to personal, litigation or potential litigation matters, or be in response to matters that have been the subject of a Public Meeting, it being noted that the verbal commenting period has ended. Written correspondence may still be received in response to matters  that have been the subject of a Public Meeting. If a person is unable to personally attend the meeting, or during any period where an emergency has been declared to exist in the municipality, they shall provide their Public Comments in writing to the Clerk in advance of the meeting for the Clerk to read on behalf of the author during the Public Comment Period.

    THAT Council receive Staff Report FAF.23.034, entitled “Roles and Responsibilities of Council Members on The Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation Board” for information.

    THAT Council receive Staff Report FAF.23.049, entitled “Investigating Partnerships for the Protection of Green Space”;

    AND THAT Council acknowledge that the work being completed through the “Beaver Valley Sustainable Tourism Strategy” be tied to the earlier Notice of Motion made by Councillor Maxwell on January 23, 2023;

    AND THAT Council direct staff to continue to collaborate and investigate the feasibility of partnering with stakeholders to protect green space as outlined in Councillor Maxwells Notice of Motion through the Grey County led “Beaver Valley Sustainable Tourism Strategy and Action Plan and with further efforts to considered after the Strategy has been completed.

    THAT Council receive Staff Report FAF.23.032, entitled “2022 Statement of Council Remuneration and Expenses” as required under Section 284 of the Municipal Act, 2001, for information purposes.

    THAT Council receive Staff Report FAF.23.015, entitled “Procedural By-law Review”;

    AND THAT Council considers the proposed revisions to the Procedural By-law as noted in this staff report, and provides direction on any additional suggested revisions;

    AND THAT Council directs staff to proceed to a Public Meeting to receive comments on the proposed revisions to the Procedural By-law.
