Council passed the following resolutions at the March 14, 2022 meeting:
THAT Council of Town of The Blue Mountains receives the following Transportation Committee recommendation dated December 21, 2021:
THAT the Transportation Committee receives staff's verbal update regarding Item C.1. Lansdowne Street South Re Potential One Way;
AND THAT the Transportation Committee recommend to Council the prioritization and queue status of trail expenditures when Council considers an option around Lansdowne Street South One-way, CARRIED
Council passed the following resolutions passed at the February 28, 2022 meeting:
THAT Council of the Town of The Blue Mountains receives the following time-sensitive recommendation from the Transportation Committee dated February 10, 2022:
THAT the Transportation Committee recommends that Council endorse staff’s grant application to the National Active Transportation Fund to improve the Georgian Trail Crossing of Highway 26 as described in the related 2016 Environmental Assessment;
AND THAT the Transportation Committee requests that this resolution be considered at the February 15, 2022 Committee of the Whole due to its time sensitive nature
AND THAT Council of Town of The Blue Mountains endorses staff’s grant application to the National Active Transportation Fund to improve the Georgian Trail Crossing of Highway 26 as described in the related 2016 Environmental Assessment, CARRIED.
Council passed the following resolutions at their February 1, 2022 meeting:
A) THAT Council of the Town of The Blue Mountains receive for information the following motion made at the November 18, 2021 Transportation Committee meeting:
THAT the Transportation Committee receives Staff Report CSOPS.21.071 “Interim By-Law to Reduce the Speed Limit Along Lansdowne Street South, 10th Line and West Ridge” for information;
AND THAT the Committee requests that Council defer consideration of the Staff Report;
AND THAT should Council wish to proceed with the Staff Report that Council consider expanding the Codicils section of the Interim By-Law to include references that these are short-term and interim measures only pending the Transportation Master Plan recommendations; that Council consider setting an expiration date for the Interim By-Law to December 31, 2023; that consideration be given to additional roads to be assumed in the West Ridge area; and that the 10th Line speed limit be set to 60 km/hr in the Interim By-Law;
AND THAT the Transportation Committee recommends that additional data collection and assessment is needed before an Comprehensive ByLaw to reduce speed limits in the Town is enacted, CARRIED.
B) THAT Council receive Staff Report CSOPS.22.004, entitled “Interim By-law to Reduce the Speed Limit Along Lansdowne Street South, 10th Line and West Ridge Drive”;
AND THAT Council enact an Interim By-law to reduce the speed limit on Lansdowne Street South, between Arthur Street West and Alice Street West, from 50KM/H to 40KM/H;
AND THAT Council enact an Interim By-law to reduce the speed limit on West Ridge Drive, between Lora Bay Drive and the 39th Sideroad, from 50KM/H to 40KM/H;
AND THAT Council enact an Interim By-law to reduce the speed limit on the 10th Line, between the 6th Sideroad and the 9th Sideroad from 80KM/H to 50KM/H;
AND THAT Council endorses, in principle, the concept of initiating a consolidated speed limit by-law once the Comprehensive Speed Limit Review is completed as part of the Transportation Master Plan;
AND THAT Council set an expiration date of December 31, 2023 for the Interim By-Law, CARRIED.
